Loma Prieta – Saturday, June 22, 2024

Dear Fellow Teammates,
Time to train and rebuild our shape! This week the plan is to go into unexplored territory and climb Loma Prieta (many thanks to Dan Scannel for designing the route for us!!!). As always, we will be regrouping at the top of each climb (e.g. Summit and Loma Prieta) and at the bottom of every descent so that nobody is left behind. The goal is to keep the peloton all together until the bottom of each climb and on the flat portions, and then tempo the climbs all the way on top.
The full route is ~68miles with 6.5k feet of elevation all in the first half of the ride. The forecast for Saturday is for a hot summer day, but I am hoping the thick vegetation and higher altitude will offer us some break from the hot temperatures. However, please do not forget to bring lots of water and food with you!
