May 9-11 LGBRC is hosting a ride weekend in beautiful Healdsburg, CA. New this year! The club set aside funds to help offset the cost of lodging and a group dinner on Saturday. Thank you, Sponsors!
After the two-hour drive wheels roll at Noon on Friday May 9 from Best Western Dry Creek Inn Day one route (LINK) is about 66 miles with 5,500 feet of climbing. We head south, circumnavigating Healdsburg. Through the quiet stretch of Chalk Hill and the Alexander Valley, we pass many unique and distinctive wineries. The climb of the day is Pine Flat Rd. with great views of the surrounding valleys.
Saturday is 72 miles with 4,000 feet of climbing (Click for Strava Link). Sweetwater Springs is the featured climb with grades up to 20%. We will stop at Armstrong Woods Park to admire towering redwoods and visit the oldest (1,400 years old), and tallest (310 feet high) trees in the park. We then follow the Russian River to lunch on the coast before returning to the hotel and a group dinner sponsored by LGBRC and title sponsor Ben Dodge Realtor.
Sunday is a 35 mile route (Click for Strava Link) along Dry Creek Valley to the Lake Sonoma Overlook, we will start early to be back in time for check out.
If interested, please let me know and book your lodging (rides start from Best Western all three days).
