Justin and I raced the Grinduro Gravel event in Shasta, CA this past weekend and enjoyed the new style of racing which had four timed segments spread out over the 58 mile event. That meant we had time to ride with others between segments and stop at all the snack and lunch stops! There was flowing single track, some tough gravel climbs, and long descents.
Justin finished 4th in the Pro men’s event and I won the men’s 51-60 category. There were 403 finishers so it was quite a large event with a post race dinner, band, and two nights of camping. There was also separate shorter Grindurito event with about 90 finishes. If anyone is interested in doing this event in future years, just let me know and I’ll try to answer any questions!
